The Alphather Lake Trek

This trek to a picturesque high-altitude lake starts from Gulmarg and can be done in one day, making it a must for those who like to do short treks. The lake remains frozen for most of the year. From the serene Khilanmarg meadow, which is situated a few kilometers from Gulmarg, you can catch a glimpse of the majestic Nanga Parbat.

The journey to the enchanting Kolahoi Glacier commences from the picturesque Aru village, nestled in the Anantnag district. Revered as the birthplace of the mighty Lidder and Jhelum rivers, the Kolahoi Glacier is often referred to as the "Goddess of Light". The glacier encapsulates the allure of Kashmir, guiding adventurers through captivating streams, tranquil lakes, verdant forests, and idyllic riverbanks along the Lidder. After traversing the scenic Lidderwat valley, a 10km trek from Aru village, and Satlunjan, the journey leads to the pristine Dudhsar Lake. Descending 1.5km, visitors are treated to a breathtaking panorama of the majestic Kolahoi Glacier.

Sonmarg Gangabal Trek
