ITC Kohenur Hyderabad has been some years in the making and will formally launch on June 1, 2018. In keeping with ITC Hotels' 'Responsible Luxury' the hotel will mirror the ethos and culture of the destination, as an ode to the multi-faceted, rich heritage of the region, committed to creating rare and priceless experiences, just like rare and priceless gems of the country.
The name of the hotel refers to the large Kohinoor diamond that was believed to have been discovered in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Soft corners have been played with in the interiors, also showcasing jali work. There is extensive use of white marble in the lobby with a wall that has jail patterns carved into stone. A geometric interpretation of the diamond pattern is carried through the hotels public areas, guest rooms and corridors.
Located in HITEC city, ITC Kohenur, the areas first luxury business hotel, will have a total of 271 rooms (including 27 serviced residences). The Jewels of the Nizam have been an inspiration in the colour schemes in each of the rooms - Sapphire, emerald, turquoise, amber and amethyst. The base category room (Executive Club) is 496 sq ft in size. It has the biggest room size compared to base category rooms at other hotels in the city.
Culinary excellence will be reflected in six food and beverage experiences. Golconda Pavilion (offering extensive local favourites), Ottimo (the fourth in the country), Peacock Bar, Sky Point (offering a picturesque view of the skyline) will be on offer along with a Hyderabad-inspired Dum Pukht Begum and Yi Jing, a creative and classic Chinese restaurant.
The Peacock Bar has been inspired by Shah Jahans Peacock Throne, on which the Kohinoor diamond had once been mounted. A bas relief plaster peacock on the ceiling adorned with multi-coloured tekri (glass work) in the tones of a peacock give the place a royal feel.
The Golconda Pavilion is contemporary but its approach has been inspired by the boulders of the state. Dum Pukht Begums, the Indian fine dining restaurant, is resplendent with arches and columns, as if it was a part of the Falaknuma Palace.
After a delicious meal, one can indulge at the Kaya Kalp - the royal spa. It is spread over three floors (10,000 sq ft) with five treatment rooms and offers indigenous Ayurveda treatments in addition to a regular spa menu.
The Club Prive is an exclusive members-only club located on the 12th floor with alfresco seating. It is 5,820 sq ft and includes private dining rooms, a meeting room, and a board room. The highlight of this club will be exclusivity and personalised service.
