This adaptation is based on Shakespeare’s King Lear, with Anjan himself portraying the character of King Lear on stage. The play is an interpretation of William Shakespeare’s classic text in Bengali. While the original dialogue remains unchanged, the play examines the timeless themes through a political lens, exploring how political corruption can lead to the rise of fascism. Set in a modern context, Aro Ekta Lear marks Anjan Dutt's final theatre production.
