IndiGo Temporarily Suspends Flights To Six International Destinations Until September 30

Travellers planning an international holiday this quarter may have fewer direct flight options on IndiGo. The airline has announced a temporary suspension of flights to six international destinations as part of a network optimisation exercise.

According to the airline, flights to Langkawi, Krabi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong and Shanghai have remained suspended since July 1, 2026, while services to Siem Reap have been suspended since July 3, 2026. The temporary suspension is expected to continue until September 30, 2026, with bookings for all affected routes reopening from October 1, 2026.

Which Flights Are Affected?

The temporary suspension applies to the following destinations:

• Langkawi, Malaysia

• Krabi, Thailand

• Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

• Hong Kong

• Shanghai, China

• Siem Reap, Cambodia (since July 3)

Passengers who were planning to travel on these routes during the suspension period are advised to check their booking status and stay updated through IndiGo's official channels.

Why Has IndiGo Suspended These Flights?

In a statement, IndiGo said the decision has been taken due to a combination of factors. The airline cited traditionally lower travel demand during the upcoming quarter, along with an increasingly challenging cost environment and continued airspace restrictions that are affecting airline operations.

The move is aimed at aligning capacity with current market demand while maintaining operational reliability across the rest of its network.

The airline also said it will continue to monitor the situation and is prepared to restore these routes earlier than planned if operating conditions improve.

International Network Remains Largely Unaffected

While six international routes have been temporarily suspended, IndiGo said the adjustment affects only a small part of its overseas network.

The airline will continue to operate more than 1,800 weekly international flights, retaining the majority of its international schedule.

According to IndiGo, the realignment is intended to help maintain network integrity and ensure reliable operations across its remaining domestic and international routes.

If you're planning to visit any of the affected destinations before September 30, 2026, it is worth checking for alternative airlines or considering revised travel dates.

Passengers with existing bookings are encouraged to regularly check the latest flight status and updates before travelling. IndiGo said it will proactively communicate with customers affected by the temporary suspension.
