Both these trains are part of the “mini Vande Bharat 2.0” design, intended for medium-distance high-speed connectivity.
The third launch, the Udaipur City–Chandigarh Superfast Express, is a bi-weekly service that connects southern Rajasthan with Haryana and Punjab. Departing from Udaipur, it stops at key junctions like Ajmer and Jaipur before reaching Chandigarh the following morning. With a mix of AC, sleeper, and general compartments, the train caters to a broad range of passengers. The inaugural run featured 22 coaches, underscoring its capacity to handle high demand.
The two new Vande Bharat services shave crucial hours off travel time. The Jodhpur to Delhi journey, now completed in just over eight hours, represents a significant upgrade over older express options. These routes consolidate Rajasthan’s position as a hub connecting western and northern India, while the Udaipur–Chandigarh superfast service strengthens inter-state links between Rajasthan, Haryana, and Punjab.
