Shri Sachin Kurve, Secretary of Tourism & CEO of UTDB, lauded the inaugural journey as a groundbreaking step towards boosting tourism in the remote corners of Uttarakhand, thereby generating employment avenues for the local populace. Emphasising the significance of this novel tourism offering, he highlighted the state's vision to foster "High-Value, Low Volume" tourism, aligning seamlessly with the Government of India's Vibrant Village Program (VVP). This transformative tourism initiative is geared towards improving the livelihoods of the local community by promoting sustainable economic opportunities.

The introduction of helicopter operations will catalyse tourism in the region, particularly during winter, coinciding with the traditional transhumance practices observed in the valley. This forward-thinking endeavour reflects the government's steadfast commitment to enhancing accessibility and empowering the residents of this majestic Himalayan region, especially during the winter season, while concurrently boosting Aero tourism across the state.

Additionally, a 4-night/5-day package is slated to begin on April 15, promising an enriching experience for travellers. This package offers an overnight stay in Pithoragarh for one night, followed by three nights in Gunji, Nabhi, or Nepalchu. It features six helicopter rides and convenient transfers via all-terrain vehicles (ATVs).
