World Whisky Day | The rise of Indian single malts has given rise to a new generation of whisky enthusiasts. Select Indian whisky brands have been creating a buzz at home and abroad. Previously, trips outside India meant a mandatory duty-free whisky run, but now you can get great quality right at your doorstep. The Godawan 100, a Collector’s Edition artisanal single malt, was awarded the title of 'World’s Best Single Malt' at the 2024 London Spirits Competition (LSC). This global event, held in the UK, evaluates spirits based on three main criteria: quality, value, and packaging. The Godawan 100 stood out among spirits from 80 countries, including Australia, Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, and France. With only 100 bottles available, this is the first artisanal single malt whisky from Rajasthan.

Rampur Asava

Radico Khaitan's Rampur Asava Indian Single Malt Whisky has been honoured as the Best World Whisky in the highly esteemed 2023 John Barleycorn Awards. This IMFL-produced whisky made history in 2023 by being the sole Indian whisky brand to secure a spot in the Top 100 Premium Wine and Spirits Brands of the World 2023.

Indri Trini

Named after the village where it was born, Indri Trini is a single malt that has created the right noise within months of its launch, winning the award for the Best Single Malt coming out of India at the World Whiskey Awards 2022. And not just this, at the 2022 edition of Dom Roskrow's New Wizards Awards (The NWAs), Indri Trini was awarded the Best Asian Whisky of the Year award.

Amrut Fusion

This single malt whisky combines Indian and peated Scottish barley and has received accolades, including a silver medal at the 2019 World Whiskies Awards. This whisky offers a full-bodied peaty palate with a subtle sherry trifle note, culminating in a delightful spice finish.

Named Otherside, the whiskey is a premium blended and aged-in-India product, available initially in Maharashtra and Goa. The makers describe it as"embracing the land’s extremes from heat, monsoons, and shifting seasons". The whiskey is finished in charred ex-Bourbon barrels using the Solera method to add layers of complexity and depth.
