American celebrity chef, author, and travel documentarian Anthony Bourdain captured global attention with his popular book 'Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly', and travelled the world showcasing various foods and cultures. Watching his shows, many viewers would have wished that they too could follow in his footsteps. An offbeat food tour enables you to do just that.

Roads & Kingdoms has put together bespoke, and fascinating, culinary trips that gourmets all around the world have been waiting for. The League of Travellers tour series, a collaboration between Roads & Kingdoms, chef Jose Andrés, and the Bourdain estate, will allow travellers to discover places such as Japan, Thailand, Italy, Spain, and Georgia.

The trips will take you to culinary destinations where you will be welcomed by local chefs and experts and have the opportunity to experience the gastronomic heart of various cultures.
Incidentally, Roads & Kingdoms has a long history of collaboration with Bourdain, who has a stake in the cuisine and culture website. In 2022, when the first food tours were launched, Nathan Thornburgh of Roads & Kingdoms posted on Instagram: "If you know me, maybe you’ve noticed I haven’t been around NYC much. This is why I've been on the road for @roadsandkingdoms’ League of Travellers, notating mozzarella tensile strength, measuring thread counts, and auditioning various drinking buddies around the globe, one copa at a time. And now we’re launching, with Tony’s estate and also with @chefjoseandres, a baker’s dozen of incredible trips around the world. These are high-end, ambitious trips, but with a heart for the small details and for the best of local and traditional producers, chefs, and artisans. The link is in my bio. Maybe I'll see you out there somewhere."

The inaugural tour, which commenced in March 2022, took travellers across Austria and Spain for a week of "mountaintop fire-feasts," seafood on the beach, visits to exclusive cheese caves, and dinners at local restaurants.
