The capital is dotted with attractions that cater to all family members: from wide boulevards and heritage landmarks to educational museums, adventure parks, and vibrant markets, the list is inexhaustive.

Sunder Nursery, also known as Azim Bagh or Bagh-e-Azeem, is a park complex next to the Humayun's Tomb in Delhi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This historic park was originally constructed by the Mughals in the 16th century and was named Azim Bagh. It is situated along the Mughal-era Grand Trunk Road and covers an area of 90 acres. Within the park are many well-preserved ruins of Mughal heritage, a beautiful lotus pond, a children's amusement park, a pond where you can feed fish, and a dense variety of flora and fauna. This park is ideal for a family picnic, especially during the winter season.
Timings: 7 am to 10 pm
Entry Fees: It costs INR 50 for adults and INR 25 for children to enter the premises.

Lodhi Garden is a beautiful historical park in the heart of New Delhi that is ideal for a family picnic. It covers 90 acres and has lush landscapes, sparkling water bodies, and tombs from the 15th century. Visitors can enjoy walking, yoga, and exercise sessions in this serene oasis. The garden's unique ambience attracts both locals and tourists. The tombs and abundant flora provide a picturesque backdrop that blends Delhi's culture, history, and natural beauty. You can visit nearby attractions such as Khan Market, Safdarjung, and Delhi Haat.

Purana Qila, also known as the Old Fort, is a magnificent citadel with a rich historical background. It was built in the 16th century by Humayun, one of the earliest cities in Delhi, and later modified by Sher Shah Suri. The fort spans two kilometres and offers a historical experience, including an evening light and sound show. You will find a grand old mosque, an observatory where Humayun is said to have tripped and died, mediaeval bathhouses, and two museums filled with artefacts found at the site. The site is also believed to have been the very site of Indraprastha, as mentioned in Hindu mythological texts. The show at the fort features laser lights on the grand fort backdrop, with themes of courage and politics. Additionally, the complex has a lake for boating and is adjacent to the National Zoological Park.

The Qutub Minar Complex is a magnificent site housing the tower that stands tall at a height of about 237 feet with five converging storeys and 379 steps leading upwards. Constructed in 1192 AD, the tower serves as a symbol of strength and survival. It has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for being the world's tallest tower. The complex also houses an Asokan iron pillar, sure to spark the interest of science-loving kids. Families can visit the Qutub Festival in Delhi every November or December and take a mandatory family photo with the towering minaret in the background. There are also nearby sites like the Mehrauli Archaeological Park, which is a must-visit.

The National Science Centre is a museum established in 1992, featuring several galleries offering unique insights into scientific discovery. The National Rail Museum showcases over a hundred life-sized exhibits, including static and functional models, signalling systems, railway furniture, old photographs, literature, and other artefacts. Families, especially children, can enjoy a ride on the Toy Train and experience the immersive 3D virtual coach. The museum offers a journey through time, exploring the evolution of rail transport in India and the rich heritage of Indian Railways.

Entry Fees: INR 50 for adults on weekdays and INR 100 on weekends. It costs INR 10 for children on weekdays and INR 20 on weekends. There are additional charges for entry to Museum Express, Toy Train, Coach Simulator, and other attractions.

Adventure Island is a huge amusement park with an array of dry and water rides for visitors of all ages. It's an excellent place for families to spend a day out, with unique rides designed for kids. The park has popular attractions like SplashDown, Z-Force, Wave Rocker, Cyclone, Swan Boat, and Water Coaster. Additionally, there are also excellent food options and shopping.

Families can visit Janpath market for a budget-friendly shopping experience. You'll find souvenirs, fabrics, books, handicrafts, accessories, jewellery, toys, and more.
