Explore Riverside Ghats

The city of Kolkata was developed alongside the Hooghly River, which has played a crucial role in the lives of its inhabitants and helped shape its identity. These ghats feature archaeologically significant buildings that are evidence of the rich heritage of the city. An interesting feature of most ghats is the presence of temples built beside them. Nida is a music curator, DJ and designer hailing from Bomba who is currently based in Delhi. She specialises in exploring the depths of club sounds and traditional dance floor soundscapes driven by styles like Nu-disco, Techno, Breakbeat and Drum and Bass. Her sets are an eclectic mix of underground and mainstream hits, ranging from Disco and House to Techno. This weekend, head out to cocktail bar Little Bit Sober, located in an old building on Kolkata's iconic Chowringhee Road. Mel & Wee from Singapore's favourite Smoke & Mirrors (#60 Best Bar in Asia) are flying down to Kolkata for the first time for an evening of adventurous cocktails and the best conversations. On vibe duties will be @masutamusic with a special setlist for the night. Skinny Mo's Jazz Club celebrates Jazz Week with a series of events from April 26 to April 30. Kicking off the celebration on Friday, April 26 is "Sonic Boom," a performance featuring the incredible Boom Suyasit on trumpet. Hailing from Bangkok, Boom is a rising star in the jazz world, having graced stages across Thailand and collaborated with some of the finest musicians in the industry. Accompanied by the talented Bodhisattwa Ghosh on guitar, Rivu on bass, and Premjit on drums, this promises to be a night of musical magic. Day two of the Jazz Week Celebration will be an evening of Jazz standards performed by Boom Suyasit & Friends. He will perform alongside Anchit Sengupta on guitar, Aakash Ganguly on bass, Premjit Dutta on drums, and Rupsha Sen on vocals. On day three, immerse yourself in the vibrant atmosphere of a jam session, where talented artists from across the city will come together for a Sunday afternoon brunch hang. Featuring an eclectic line-up of seasoned veterans and up-and-coming jazz musicians from Calcutta, this jam session promises to be a feast for the senses.
