Takdah is known for its British colonial-era bungalows, many of which have been converted into charming homestays or guesthouses. These bungalows, built between 1905 and 1915, are a significant part of Takdah's heritage and offer a unique glimpse into the past with their architecture and vintage looks, with slanted roofs, fireplaces, and front gardens. These bungalows.

The bungalows are numbered because they were originally built as part of a British cantonment area, which used a systematic numbering system to identify each bungalow. This system was established when the British developed Takdah, along with its tea gardens, around 1911, and it continues to be in use today. They are often located amidst tea gardens and provide scenic views of the surrounding forests and mountains. The bungalows are remnants of Takdah's past as a British military cantonment and recreation spot for officers. They feature traditional British architectural styles, such as slanted roofs and fireplaces.
