The moment I stepped inside, I realised Moxy Kathmandu wasn't trying to be a conventional luxury property. Splashes of pink welcomed me everywhere, giving the hotel a vibrant personality from the get-go. The lobby felt like a social space rather than a waiting area, complete with communal seating, bookshelves, games, cosy corners to work or unwind, and an outdoor patio where guests gathered for conversations or a smoke. At its heart is Moxy Kitchen & Bar, which doubles as the hotel's check-in area, social hub and all-day dining space, serving a mix of multinational cuisines in an atmosphere that encourages guests to linger. Beyond the lobby, the culinary experience continues at La Hacienda – Barra Y Cocina Latina, a Latin American restaurant on the 11th floor with sweeping city views, and Cariño – Terraza Latina, the rooftop sky bar where local and international flavours are paired with one of Kathmandu's most impressive panoramas. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed, striking the right balance between fun and comfort. It instantly felt like a hotel designed for travellers who enjoy connecting with both people and the destination around them.
