Diwali celebrations are heading beyond India this November, with Thailand bringing Indian festive traditions to Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. The Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2026, organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), will run from November 3 to 29, with seven themed events spread across three destinations. Visitors can look forward to traditional puja ceremonies, diya lighting, Bollywood-inspired performances, Indian food stalls, festive markets, and cultural activities. From the riverside setting of ICONSIAM in Bangkok to the beachfront celebrations in Pattaya and Phuket, the programme offers Indian travellers an opportunity to mark the festival while exploring some of Thailand’s popular holiday destinations.

The festival also reflects Thailand’s efforts to strengthen its tourism ties with India by connecting familiar cultural traditions with the country’s shopping, dining, heritage, and coastal experiences. Here is a closer look at the schedule, venues, and attractions planned for November.

Seven Events Across Thailand

The Amazing Thailand Grand Diwali Festival 2026 will feature seven themed celebrations across Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. Bangkok will host four events, Pattaya will have two, and Phuket will host one. The programme begins at Central Bangrak in Bangkok on November 3 and concludes at EmQuartier on November 29.

The schedule is spread across nearly four weeks, with some celebrations taking place simultaneously. Travellers planning their visits should therefore consider the dates and locations carefully, particularly if they want to attend more than one event during their holiday.

The celebrations will begin with The First Light, scheduled for November 3 and 4 at Central Bangrak, Bangkok. From November 6 to 8, Lotus on the Water will bring the festivities to Riverpark at ICONSIAM, beside the Chao Phraya River.

Pattaya’s programme begins on November 7, with Evenings by the Sea at Central Festival Pattaya Beach, running until November 15. On November 8, Phuket will host A Sunday of Flavour at Central Festival Patong, bringing the festival to the island’s dining and shopping district.

Pattaya will host another celebration, Lambs Along the Shore, along Pattaya Beach Road from November 13 to 15. The festival then returns to Bangkok for Along the Old Canal, scheduled from November 20 to 24 along Phahurat Road and around Khlong Ong Ang. The final event, Music on the Avenue, will take place at Quartier Avenue, EmQuartier, from November 26 to 29.

Culture Meets Celebration

Beyond the dates and venues, the festival programme combines religious traditions with entertainment, food, and interactive experiences. Planned activities include puja ceremonies, blessings, diya lighting, and religious processions featuring Lakshmi and Ganesha. These will be complemented by Bollywood-inspired performances, Sufi music, traditional dance showcases, and Thai-Indian fusion concerts.

The Along the Old Canal programme will bring Diwali celebrations to this historic part of the city, offering visitors an opportunity to explore its Indian cultural connections alongside the festival activities. According to tourism figures released by TAT in February 2026, Thailand welcomed 2,487,319 Indian visitors in 2025, an increase of 16.82 per cent compared with the previous year. Indian travellers generated approximately 93.86 billion baht in tourism revenue during that period.

For 2026, TAT set a target of more than 2.55 million Indian visitors and approximately 97.86 billion baht in tourism receipts. During the first quarter of 2026, Thailand recorded around 626,000 arrivals from India, reinforcing the importance of the market to its tourism industry.
