Water Festival in Madhya Pradesh

Keen to promote adventure tourism, Madhya Pradesh Tourism is organising a Water Festival from February 12-21, 2016

If you are interested in watersports, then check out the newly developed Hanuwantiya island in Madhya Pradesh. The state tourism is also organising a Jal Mahotsav (Water Festival) at the island located in the Indira Sagar Dam reservoir. The Festival will be held from February 12-21, 2016. The dam, located in Khandwa district, is on the Narmada River. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (MPTDC), the organiser of the festival, has built a boat club, a restaurant and cottages on the island. Tented accommodation will be provided during the festival. Visitors can avail a cruise and motor boat rides from the boat club. During the festival, visitors can participate in watersports, kite flying and volleyball competitions. A food and craft bazar will also be set up during the festival. MP Tourism has also organised package tours to cover the event to and from Indore (the nearest airport).
