Vietnam Airlines To Launch Non-Stop Hanoi–Ahmedabad Flights From November 3

Vietnam Airlines has announced the launch of four weekly non-stop flights between Hanoi and Ahmedabad from November 3, 2026, marking the addition of Gujarat’s largest city to its Indian network. The service will connect the Vietnamese capital with Ahmedabad on four days a week, giving travellers from Gujarat and neighbouring regions a direct air link to northern Vietnam. The launch also expands the airline’s presence in India, as travel between the two countries continues to grow.

The new service will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, using Airbus A321 aircraft. Flights from Hanoi are scheduled to depart at 5:35 pm and arrive in Ahmedabad at 9:30 pm local time. The return service will leave Ahmedabad at 10:45 pm and arrive in Hanoi at 4:35 am the following day. The schedule will offer travellers a direct connection between the two cities without requiring a change of aircraft en route.

Ahmedabad Joins Vietnam Airlines’ Network

With Ahmedabad joining its network, Vietnam Airlines will serve five Indian cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. The airline will operate seven routes between India and Vietnam, connecting its hubs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City with destinations across the country. Its scheduled services to India will total 25 round trips a week following the launch.

For travellers in Gujarat and neighbouring regions, the addition provides another option for reaching Vietnam's capital. Hanoi offers access to the country's northern region, including the historic Old Quarter, the Temple of Literature and the landscapes of Ha Long Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site located east of the capital. The city also serves as a starting point for journeys to destinations such as Ninh Binh and Sapa.

Indian Arrivals In Vietnam Rise

The new route comes amid rising travel between India and Vietnam. According to Vietnam Airlines, Vietnam welcomed more than 670,000 Indian visitors in the first nine months of 2026, a 33 per cent increase over the corresponding period in 2025. India is now Vietnam's eighth-largest source market for international visitors.

Beyond Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, destinations such as Da Nang and Phu Quoc are drawing Indian travellers with their beaches, cultural attractions and resort offerings. Improved air connectivity could make it easier for visitors to plan trips around different parts of the country, depending on their itinerary and onward transport options.

For Ahmedabad, the service adds another international connection at a time when Gujarat's commercial links and outbound travel market are expanding. Vietnam Airlines has positioned the route to serve leisure and business travel, including meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). Travellers planning to use the new service should check the airline's official booking channels for current fares, baggage allowances and schedule updates before departure. Flight timings and availability may be subject to change.
