Minimalist Hotels Announces Multi-City Expansion In India With 1,000 Keys

Leading lifestyle hospitality brand Minimalist Hotels has announced plans to expand by opening 20 new hotels over the next two years. This expansion represents a significant milestone for the brand as it strives to redefine hospitality in the mid-market segment across some of India's most dynamic and culturally rich destinations, including Varanasi, the National Capital Region (NCR), Rajasthan, Goa, Mumbai, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh.

This strategic initiative aligns with the broader projection for the Indian hotel market, which is expected to grow from USD 15.67 billion in 2024 to USD 22.41 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.32 per cent, according to Research and Markets. Boutique and mid-scale lifestyle hotels, particularly in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, are anticipated to be key drivers of this growth. This trend is fuelled by increased domestic tourism, rising disposable incomes, and a growing preference for Bleisure (business and leisure) travel.

Each new property will showcase the brand’s signature Japandi-inspired aesthetic, which blends Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian functionality. This design approach creates tranquil and stylish spaces that embody simplicity and smart design.

These include DJ-led music nights, European-style coffee raves, fitness-focused run clubs in Goa, and co-working hubs that cater to workations. The brand has welcomed over 1,50,000 guests across all its locations in the past seven years, reflecting the increasing trust and preference among modern travellers for Minimalist’s unique hospitality experience.
