Pakyong Airport, Sikkim's first and only airport will start its full-fledged operations from October onwards. This is an extremely good news as now one can save at least five hours of additional journey by road to reach the capital of Sikkim, Gangtok. Pakyong is located 35 kilometres south of Gangtok and the airport will connect the state to other major cities in India. October 4 onwards, SpiceJet will begin its daily flights from Kolkata to Pakyong Pakyong to Guwahati (round trip) from October 16 onwards. Kolkata to Pakyong flight will be of 1 hour 25 minutes (85minutes) in duration. It is definitely going to make travel to Sikkim a lot easier and less time-consuming.
