Global Village Dubai Season 31 To Open In October 2026: What Indian Travellers Need To Know

What can you do at Global Village Dubai? If you have ever wanted to eat your way through several countries in one evening, pick up handicrafts from another continent and finish the night with fireworks, Dubai’s Global Village is designed for precisely that kind of itinerary. The sprawling open-air attraction will return for its 31st season on October 14, 2026, and stay open until May 2027 under the theme “A More Wonderful World.”

The full programme for Season 31 has not been announced yet, so some of the biggest new attractions remain under wraps. What is certain is that the destination will bring back its signature mix of international pavilions, shopping, food, live shows and fairground attractions, with organisers promising new experiences before the season begins.

From A Creek-Side Attraction To A Dubai Institution

Global Village began on October 4, 1997, as a much smaller cultural attraction during the Dubai Shopping Festival. Its early pavilions were housed in tent-like structures near Dubai Creek, and the attraction later moved to Oud Metha before settling at its current location in 2005. Since then, it has grown into one of Dubai’s best-known seasonal attractions. More than 100 million visitors have passed through its gates over the years.

Season 30 demonstrated just how large the concept has become. It featured 30 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures, over 3,500 shopping outlets, more than 250 dining options and upwards of 200 rides, games and attractions. The season also featured more than 40,500 performances by around 450 international artists.

For Indian visitors, the India Pavilion is likely to be one of the familiar stops, alongside pavilions representing countries and regions across Asia, Africa, Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. Global Village’s cultural areas are built around markets, food, crafts, merchandise, and performances, making the attraction as much about browsing and eating as it is about rides.

What Happens Inside Global Village?

Think of Global Village as a giant evening market crossed with a theme park and an international food festival. You can wander through country pavilions, shop for textiles, handicrafts, souvenirs, and speciality products, then stop for food from different parts of the world.

The previous season had more than 200 restaurants, cafés, and street-food stalls. There were also larger dining spaces, such as Restaurant Plaza, while Fiesta Street and the Dessert District catered to visitors looking for quick bites and sweets.

Then there is Carnaval, the amusement-park section, with more than 200 rides, games and attractions. Season 30 also introduced Dragon Kingdom, an 11-room interactive adventure, alongside Gardens of the World and The Little Wonderers for younger visitors. Which of these return, and what replaces or expands them for Season 31, will become clearer as Global Village releases its new-season programme.

Entertainment is another major draw. The Main Stage hosts international concerts, Bollywood and other music performances, while the wider park has cultural shows, children’s entertainment, street performers, stunt acts, light and laser shows and weekend fireworks. Global Village has specifically teased another concert calendar for Season 31, although the artist line-up has not yet been announced.

For Indian visitors, the attraction has had plenty of Bollywood and South Asian programming. Season 30, for instance, featured Boom Boom Bollywood, a show built around three decades of Hindi film music.

Tickets, Timings, And What Indians Need To Know

There is one important caveat for travellers planning a Dubai trip around Global Village: Season 31 tickets are not on sale yet; they will be available later this year.

For reference, Season 30 admission cost AED 25 from Sunday to Thursday and AED 30 on Fridays and Saturdays. Entry was free for children under three, visitors aged 65 and above and people of determination. Tuesdays were reserved for women and families, except when they coincided with public holidays. These were Season 30 prices and policies, so visitors should check the Season 31 ticket page before booking rather than assume the same rates will apply.

The park is located near Exit 37 on Sheikh Zayed Road, and its seasonal operation coincides with Dubai’s cooler months. Last season, standard hours were from 4 PM to midnight from Monday to Thursday and until 1 AM from Friday to Sunday, although Season 31 timings should be checked closer to opening.

For Indian passport holders, visiting Global Village does not require a separate permit. You need the appropriate UAE entry permission for your Dubai trip. Most Indian tourists who do not qualify for visa-on-arrival facilities need to arrange a UAE tourist visa before travelling. The UAE government lists tourist visas as an entry option, while airlines and authorised travel agencies can also assist with applications.

There is an important exception. Indian citizens can qualify for a visa on arrival if they hold an eligible, valid visa, residence permit or Green Card from the US, EU, or UK. Since February 2025, the UAE has also extended this facility to Indian passport holders with valid residence permits from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and Singapore.

For everyone else, check the latest UAE visa requirements before booking flights and accommodation. A passport with adequate validity, return or onward travel arrangements and the documents required for the particular visa category should be kept ready.

Once inside Dubai, the practical part is simple: buy your Global Village ticket through the official website or app when Season 31 sales open, and allow several hours for the visit. Trying to cover every pavilion, ride, food stop, and show in a single rushed visit rather defeats the purpose. With the attraction running for more than seven months, travellers can also build an evening at Global Village into a longer Dubai itinerary rather than treating it as a quick stop.

For Season 31, the date to circle is October 14, 2026. The ticket prices, pavilion line-up, concerts and new attractions are still being released, but if previous seasons are any indication, Global Village will once again turn a Dubai evening into a trip around the world without requiring a passport stamp at every pavilion.
