Following the announcement of plans to develop the 'Ram Van Gaman Path', the Madhya Pradesh government, under the leadership of the BJP, is set to embark on a new initiative to enhance sites associated with Lord Krishna in the state.

The 'Ram Van Gaman Path' traces the legendary route believed to have been taken by Lord Ram during his exile in the forest. Now, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed officials from the Tourism and Culture Department to not only focus on developing facilities along this path but also to make necessary arrangements for pilgrims visiting places linked to Lord Krishna across the state, as per a press release.

During a meeting held at his official residence, Chief Minister Yadav emphasised the need for an action plan to better manage the state's places of worship. He highlighted Lord Krishna's journey to Ujjain from Mathura, where he resided at sage Sandipani's Ashram, mastering various arts and studying the Vedas.

The Religious Sites

Special religious significance is attributed to Narayan Dham in Amjhera, Dhar district, and Mahidpur tehsil in Ujjain district, the CM mentioned. Amjhera is renowned for its ancient temples dedicated to Shaiva and Vaishnava sects, deeply associated with Lord Krishna and Rukmani. Notably, Narayan Dham houses the sole temple globally where Lord Krishna is depicted alongside his friend Sudama, noted CM Yadav.

Enhancing facilities and infrastructure at these sites is expected to bolster tourism and attract more devotees, Yadav affirmed. He stressed the importance of creating an annual calendar for organising cultural and religious events, with the active participation of saints and seers.

International Gita & Ramayana Mahotsav

Furthermore, the Chief Minister proposed hosting an International Gita and Ramayana Mahotsav to engage the masses and advocated for promoting miniature statues of deities to stimulate the local economy.

By prioritising the development of places associated with Lord Krishna alongside the 'Ram Van Gaman Path,' the Madhya Pradesh government aims to enrich the spiritual and cultural landscape of the state, fostering a deeper connection with its rich heritage.
