If you're travelling on a Vande Bharat train but didn’t choose a meal while booking your ticket, don’t worry—you can still buy food onboard. The Railway Board recently announced that passengers who book tickets at the last minute (current booking) or those who didn’t opt for a meal earlier can now purchase food on the train. This decision comes after many travellers complained that IRCTC staff would not serve them food unless they had pre-booked it.
Now, food services on Vande Bharat trains include both Ready-to-Eat (RTE) meals and freshly cooked meals (where available). This ensures all passengers can access food options during their journey, making travel more convenient and comfortable.
