Goa is dazzling in vibrant colours and festivities as the Goa Carnival celebrations were kicked off on February 9 and is set to continue till February 13.

The festivities include a parade that began at Porvorim and will advance through the bustling streets owill advance through the bustling Panjim, Margao, Vasco, and culminate in the lively atmosphere of Mapusa on the 13th.

If you are in Goa this time of the year or are headed there, expect to be greeted by a riot of colors as enthusiastic locals and tourists, dressed in elaborate costumes, dance to the infectious beats of live music.

The heart of Carnival lies in its spectacular float parade, meticulously organized by the Department of Tourism. Featuring intricately designed floats, vibrant costumes, and energetic dancers, the parade showcases Goa's rich cultural heritage through traditional music and dance performances that captivate audiences of all ages.

Another prominent part of the Carnival festivities is the iconic figure of King Momo, whose larger-than-life persona symbolises the spirit of revelry and indulgence. With his regal presence, King Momo encourages the crowd to embrace the festivities with his memorable words: "Eat, Drink & Make Merry!"

In addition to the lively parades, Carnival offers a plethora of activities including costume contests and street parties, where locals and tourists come together to celebrate as one big community, singing, dancing, and making memories that last a lifetime.

Time To Indulge

For foodies, the Carnival also marks the onset of Goa Seafood Festival, which will continue till February 11 at Miramar Beach. The festival features a diverse range of culinary creations from traditional Goan dishes to international seafood delights. 

The festival promotes eco-friendly practices and ensures a clean beach environment with responsible waste management and eco-friendly utensils.

For a comfortable experience, you can avail the Go Goa Hop On Hop Off service will be available from Campal SAG grounds to Miramar Circle and back every 10 minutes, eliminating parking concerns and ensuring convenient transportation for festival-goers.
