Weekend Events in Delhi | With monsoon on its last legs, Delhi has been looking freshly rain-washed and alive. Though the sun still makes occasional appearances and humid afternoons linger, the heat has lost its grip. Puddles reflect the neon glow of streetlights, and the scent of damp earth fills the air. Against this refreshed backdrop, Delhi gears up for a vibrant weekend—pop-up restaurants, movie screenings, and musical evenings are set to take centre stage. Here's Outlook Traveller's curated list of the top events to check out in the capital this weekend.

Museo Camera, Centre for the Photographic Arts in Gurugram, is presenting Touching Light: A Prelude to the Bicentennial of Photography (1827–2027), the first exhibition in India to trace the journey of analogue photography across more than 150 years. Curated by Aditya Arya, the exhibition runs from 23 August to 29 September 2025, bringing together rare 19th-century works such as the People of India series (1850s–60s), Bourne & Shepherd’s Carte de Visite (1860s), and Beauties of Lucknow (1874), alongside the practice of 28 contemporary photographers including Ram Rahman, Rohit Chawla, Dinesh Khanna, Prashant Panjiar, Serena Chopra, and others. With contributions from both archival collections and living masters, Touching Light unfolds as a landmark tribute to photography’s pioneers and practitioners, celebrating the medium’s tactile, imperfect, and deeply human essence as the world moves towards the bicentennial of photography in 2027. The India International Centre presents A Lunatic in the Woods, a solo exhibition by Gurgaon-based artist Supriya Sathe, on view during the last days of August. Showcasing 48 acrylic works on canvas, Sathe’s latest body of work unfolds as a meditative dialogue between earthly landscapes and celestial imagination—birch trees, silver moons, icy satellites, and imagined horizons converge in surreal stillness. At once intimate and expansive, the exhibition asks what it means to truly see, reminding viewers of the everyday wonder found in forests, moonlight, and the mysteries of the skies.
