Here's a nice Christmas and year-end gift for tourists going to Mumbai Hop-on, hop-off tourist buses will become a familiar sight on the streets of Mumbai with a new service launching today.

Maharashtra Tourism and Environment Minister Aaditya Thackeray will launch the city's hop-on hop-off (christened HoHo) bus service at 11 am today.

Similar to the tourist buses in London and other major citites, it's hoped the AC electric buses will offer a major boost to tourism in the city.

The HoHo bus will start from Gateway of India and end at Juhu Chowpatty, taking in several sights along the way. With a run frequency of 30 minutes, they will be available from 9 am to 8 pm. The daily bus pass will cost you Rs 250.


Here's what a ride on HoHo buses means On your Mumbai visit, you can explore the city at your own pace with this service. You will be able to take unlimited rides and get off or get on at any destination en route,&nbspas many times as you wish. So far, the stops are CSMT, Byculla Zoo / Bhau Daji Lad Museum, Siddhivinayak Temple, Band Stand Bandra, Juhu Garden, Juhu chowpatty, Nehru Science Centre/ Nehru Planetarium, Mani Bhavan, Hanging Garden, Aquarium, Museum and Gateway of India.

The HoHo buses will give you the flexibility to plan your day around Mumbai at an affordable cost. You can score a window seat and see the sights, you can stay on board the entire route and take a scenic spin, or hop-off at the destinations you want to further explore. Once you've seen it, you simply wait for the next bus to come along to rejoin the tour.
