BLADE, an American company, became a pioneer in the short-distance aviation segment in India when their&nbspdesi&nbspdivision, BLADE India, launched helicopter services between Pune, Mumbai and Shirdi in Maharashtra in October 2019.

Now the pioneer in Urban Air Mobility (UAM) has announced the launch of its medevac service &lsquoBLADE Care&rsquo.

Amid the growing number of coronavirus cases, the brand aims to address accessibility concerns for those who are looking at emergency medical travel.

BLADE Care services will be accessible for medical evacuations and essential travel. The brand will arrange aero-medical charters for both COVID and non-COVID patients with a team of certified doctors, paramedics and clinicians onboard. They plan to act as a one-stop shop for all charter needs by ensuring people don&rsquot spend a lot of time connecting with multiple parties for travel plans. Every flier will also be assigned a dedicated BLADE relationship manager, providing assistance throughout, from booking their flight to ensuring they reach their destination safely.

&ldquoThe current pandemic crisis has resulted in a dire need for medicare facilities especially for those needing critical care," says&nbspAmit Dutta, Managing Director, BLADE India. "We have been inundated with requests from families of patients looking to transport their loved ones to other cities offering the relevant medicare facilities. To ensure a holistic experience, we have partnered with India&rsquos leading speciality healthcare ecosystem, MyHealthcare. The partnership gives us the ability to serve leading hospitals and healthcare providers and bring to our patients the most experienced team for clinical care.&rdquo

MyHealthcare is a speciality healthcare ecosystem which manages all the medical requirements for patients on ground and with BLADE being the air carrier service network. This enables immediate medical assistance and makes for a hassle-free experience for families going through difficult times.

&ldquoSuper speciality and multi-speciality services are limited to the top metros of India today," says&nbspShyatto Raha, Founder & CEO, MyHealthcare. "Critical patients in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities need to travel to metros to receive the specialised care, which is time consuming."

Raha added that medevacs will play a critical role in saving lives, ensuring they are in the best medical hands as quickly as possible. COVID 19 has thrown up another challenge, whereby patients are unable to travel easily from one location to another. "Our partnership with BLADE India will help enhance the medevac services for our patients, allowing us access to a wider network of air ambulances and helicopters. Through the partnership, we will be able to manage a complete bed to bed transfer of our patients, in the shortest possible time. At MyHealthcare, we remain committed to ensure we bring to our patients the best and most effective healthcare solutions, through our ecosystem of care,&rdquo he added.

BLADE Care is also open for regular air travel, for people who want to travel inter-state, return to their hometowns or any other place they feel the safest.

All services can be booked on their website&nbspor from the mobile application available on Google Play Store and Apple store.
