Mauritius All Set to Reopen for International Travellers in July

Well, we have some good news,
The island paradise will soon be opening its doors to tourists. Mauritius is ranked among the top countries in the world for its response to COVID-19. By prioritising the tourism staff during their vaccine rollout, the land of perfect sunsets is safe and ready to resume tourism operations.
The reopening will be done in phases for both vaccinated and unvaccinated travellers.
Phase 1
The island will accept tourists from July 15 to September 30 where vaccinated guests can enjoy a hotel holiday in one of their certified COVID-19 safe hotels. The hotel will be your own little bubble where you can make the most of all the amenities, excluding the spa. Guests can also access the beach and have a super laidback vacation on this castaway island.
All vaccinated guests will have to undergo an RT- PCR test on their day of arrival, and on day 7 and day 14 of their stay. After receiving a negative RT-PCR test report on day 14, travellers will have the freedom to explore the island.
Unvaccinated visitors must make reservations in an official quarantine hotel including their transfers and meals.
Phase 2
This phase will commence October onwards, the country is looking forward to fully reopening from October 1, 2021. They also plan on starting unrestricted stays in their beautiful resorts and hotels where vaccinated travellers can freely explore all the attractions available on the island throughout their holiday.
However, vaccinated tourists will be allowed to enter the island only if they have to carry a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of departure.
Unvaccinated travellers must book a quarantine stay in one of the official quarantine hotels along with their meals and transfers. Visitors will have to complete their mandatory hotel room quarantine for 14 days. Meals will be delivered to their room and they will also undergo an RT-PCR test on their day of arrival, day 7, and day 14.
After a negative RT-PCR test on day 14, unvaccinated travellers can freely explore the island and move to new accommodation.
As per the authorities in Mauritius, visitors who have had vaccinations authorised by the World Health Organisation will be allowed in, including those for emergency use. Travellers who have received their shots of Pfizer-Biontech, Moderna, Sinovac, Astra-Zeneca, Jansen / Johnson & Johnson, or Sinopharm and Covishield can schedule a visit.
Those under 18 are not required to be vaccinated to travel to the island nation, however, they will have to undertake RT-PCR testing.
Mauritius will be announcing its list of approved hotels on June 20.
