Set against the quiet backdrop of Udaipur’s Aravalli Hills, the newly opened Fairmont Udaipur Palace brings contemporary luxury to one of Rajasthan’s most storied regions. Developed by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, part of global hospitality group Accor, in partnership with Keystone Resorts Pvt. Ltd., this expansive new property blends traditional design with modern amenities across an 18-acre estate.

Constructed from locally sourced stone and designed to echo the grandeur of royal Rajasthani architecture, the hotel houses 327 rooms and suites, eight dining concepts, and seven event spaces.

“The opening of Fairmont Udaipur Palace marks a defining moment in Fairmont’s journey in India—a tribute to the timeless beauty and cultural richness of Udaipur, one of India’s most iconic and romantic destinations,” said Omer Acar, Chief Executive Officer, Raffles & Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. “This new palace reflects Fairmont’s commitment to honoring the spirit of each location we enter, blending global luxury with deep local resonance. We are proud to bring the Fairmont experience to Udaipur and to be part of the city’s enduring legacy as a jewel in India’s cultural crown.”

Fortress-Inspired Luxury

Inspired by Mewar’s majestic fortresses, Fairmont Udaipur Palace rises from stone and marble with chattris, stepwells, and courtyards that echo Rajasthan’s architectural heritage. Guests enter through the imposing Raj Dwar, a fortress-style gateway flanked by cannons, leading into a palace that blends traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.

Across its three wings—Surya Mahal, Chandra Mahal, and Agni Mahal—the palace captures the essence of natural elements: sun, moon, and fire. From sweeping valley views to intricate Thikri mirror inlay panels, every corner reflects the region’s art, culture, and landscape. Locally crafted artworks, embroidered textiles, and sculptures—especially of the leopard, the palace’s symbol of quiet strength—bring the wild and the regal into harmony, making this a living tribute to Rajasthan’s timeless spirit.

“We wanted to give Udaipur that global edge—a world-class hotel where people from around the world come not just to stay, but to celebrate, to unwind, and to feel the true soul of Rajasthan,” said Somesh Agarwal, Chairman and Managing Director of ROCKWOOD Hotels & Keystone Hotels. "It’s our homage to heritage, our tribute to tradition, and our promise to India’s future in luxury tourism.”
