These are some of the best road trips in the world, and not just India.
Chennai to Pondicherry
If you&rsquore heading to Pondicherry, take on the journey of a little over 680 km from Chennai via the East Coast Road. The long, smooth stretch that runs along places like Cuddalore and Mahabalipuram unfurls breathtaking views of the countryside and the Bay of Bengal along the way. It takes approximately 3.5 hours to complete this journey.
Visakhapatnam to Araku Valley
If lush green views and enchanting waterfalls are what you&rsquore yearning for on your next road trip, this journey of 115 km is the one you must set on. Although it is a journey of roughly 3 hours and 30 mins, don&rsquot be surprised if it takes more time. There are many places along the way that qualifies as a good pitstop, for instance, the Thatipudi Dam Watch Tower, Damuku Viewpoint, Borra Caves, and Katika Waterfall.
Gangtok to Lake Tsomgo
This journey does not just pack stunning views but a lot of adventure. Stretching across 520 km and spanning over 10 hours, this road trip is not meant for the faint-hearted or the inexperienced. However, despite the elevated roads, steep uphill drives and blinding turns that fall in the way, the snow-capped mountain views are breathtaking.

Shillong to Cherrapunjee
The misty hills of North East India that hide gushing waterfalls make for a stunning visual when driving along the route that connects these two sleepy cities. It spans a little over 54 km and takes approximately 1.5 or 2 hours to cover. However, it may take a little longer if you stop by many viewing points and waterfalls that dot the route&ndashthese include the Elephant falls, the Wah Kaba falls, Mawkdok Dympep viewing point, among many others.

Bangalore to Ooty
Karnataka has many beautiful vistas, and this route is a way to witness just one of them. This scenic route that stretches across 533 km has 36 hairpin bends laid along the way&ndashadding a bit of adventure to the mix. You can also stop at various points to take in the stunning sceneries that colour your eyes green or head to the Madumalai National Park to unwind in the wild.
