This short trekking route, in Jammu & Kashmir, follows the course of the Lidder river from Pahalgam up to the Kolahoi glacier

Author : OurTeam

A classic Kashmir trek that never lets you down. Perfect for a quick getaway, this short jaunt follows the course of the Lidder river from the pretty vale of Pahalgam up to the Kolahoi glacier. Take a car to Pahalgam, and from there up the Lidder valley to the village of Aru at the confluence of the East and West Lidder streams. The trek proper begins after that, up the West Lidder through alpine meadows and then boulders around the Kolahoi massif before arriving at the glacier itself. Right in the middle of the Great Himalayan Range, this is one of the easier glaciers to get to. Many trekking agencies offer this trek, including the Ladakh-based Northern Escapes (9456709898, northernescapes.in).
