Residents of  Sujanpur village in Soro block of the Balasore district in Odisha were taken aback on Sunday, July 20, when they spotted a yellow turtle, a rare sight. The animal was handed over to the forest department. Indian Forest Service senior officer Susanta Nandi is of the view that the turtle might be albino. He took to Twitter to share some close-up photos and videos of the now famous &lsquoYellow Turtle&rsquo

Posting a closer photograph he furthered his point of calling the turtle a case of albinism.

Though numerous people have called it a first-of-its-kind in the state, it was only last month when a rare species of Trionychidae Turtle was caught by the local fishermen at Deuli Dam in Mayurbhanj district. These turtles are mostly found in Africa, Asia, and North America.
