Wayanad’s green hills are set to welcome another new hospitality address. The Fern Hotels & Resorts has signed The Fern Broad Bean Resort Wayanad, Series by Marriott, marking the brand’s latest expansion in Kerala and taking its operational and upcoming properties across South India to 17. The resort is scheduled to open in the second half of 2027 and will have 65 rooms and suites, alongside dining, wellness, and event facilities.

Designed for both leisure and business travellers, The Fern Broad Bean Resort Wayanad will comprise 65 rooms and suites, with interiors planned around contemporary comfort. While detailed room categories and individual room features have not yet been announced, the property is expected to cater to both short leisure breaks and longer stays in the hill district.

Food and drink will be centred around an all-day dining restaurant and a bar/lounge, giving guests options to eat on property throughout the day. The resort is also being planned with a strong events component, with two banquet halls and a boardroom for corporate meetings, conferences, social gatherings, and celebrations.

For downtime, the property will have a swimming pool, spa and well-equipped gym. These facilities are designed to complement Wayanad's nature-driven appeal, giving guests the option of pairing outdoor excursions with time at the resort.

The new resort also fits The Fern's wider positioning around environmentally conscious hospitality. The company currently operates more than 100 hotels across 90-plus locations and describes sustainability and environmentally sensitive hotel development as central to its brand philosophy.

The caves are actually a prehistoric rock shelter formed by a large boulder wedged between two others.
