ITC Hotels Signs 227-Key Mementos Resort In Karjat, Maharashtra

ITC Hotels Limited has signed a management agreement for a 227-key luxury resort under its Mementos by ITC Hotels brand in Karjat, Maharashtra. Set against the Sahyadri foothills, the proposed property will combine leisure and wellness facilities with extensive event spaces, targeting holidaymakers, destination weddings and corporate retreats. The signing was announced on October 15, 2026.

Located outside Mumbai, Karjat has drawn travellers looking for scenic breaks within reach of the city. Its accessibility from Mumbai and Pune, coupled with its green landscapes and foothill setting, makes it a natural fit for a resort catering to both weekend getaways and larger gatherings. The new resort is expected to tap into this mix of leisure and events-led travel.

A Stay Framed By The Sahyadris

Mementos by ITC Hotels Karjat is planned to feature rooms and suites designed to reflect the character of the destination. Its dining offering will include an all-day restaurant, speciality restaurants, a bar and a tea lounge, with culinary experiences spanning regional and international cuisines. Wellness and recreation will form another part of the property's offering. Plans include a signature spa, fitness centre, swimming pools and a range of recreational activities, positioning the resort as a destination for guests looking to combine time away with opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation.

For a destination framed by the Sahyadris, the setting offers scope to build a stay around the landscape as well as the facilities within the property. The resort's proposed mix of dining, wellness and recreation is intended to accommodate both short leisure breaks and longer retreats.

A Destination For Gatherings

A substantial part of the development will be dedicated to gatherings. The resort is planned to offer more than 60,000 sq ft of indoor event space, including a grand ballroom and meeting venues, alongside over 30,000 sq ft of outdoor lawns for social occasions. These facilities are expected to accommodate destination weddings, conferences, corporate offsites and other celebrations. The scale of the proposed spaces places events at the centre of the resort's offering, allowing it to serve both holidaymakers and groups travelling for organised gatherings.

The project reflects a broader focus on leisure destinations that combine nature-led stays with wellness and personalised hospitality. With extensive event facilities alongside its accommodation and recreation offerings, the resort is also positioned to cater to destination weddings, social celebrations and corporate retreats.

A New Chapter For Karjat

The signing adds to ITC Hotels' presence in the luxury leisure segment through its Mementos brand, whose properties are designed around the character of their destinations. For Karjat, the proposed resort represents another addition to a hospitality landscape shaped by its proximity to two major urban centres and its appeal as an alternative to conventional city stays.

With accommodation, wellness facilities and large-format event venues planned under one roof, Mementos by ITC Hotels Karjat is being positioned to serve several strands of travel demand. The resort's opening date has not yet been announced.
