Still wondering where to travel to this November Halt your research and listen up&mdashManipur is hosting its annual cultural event, the Sangai Festival and it is a riot of fun. Named after the state animal, the endangered brown-antlered deer called sangai, the festival is a 10-day affair from November 21-30.

The main aim of the annual festival is to promote tourism in this lush northeastern state. Everything from sport, scenic beauty, arts and handicrafts, cuisine, adventure indigenous to the region will be highlighted and on display.

"Investment can make Manipur a global tourist hotspot. One cannot miss the pristine landscapes in Manipur. Add to that, the greenery, year-round pleasant weather and great food make it an attractive destination for travellers," said Chief Minister N Biren Singh about the festival.

What can you expect from the festival The most exciting part is the 12^th edition of the Manipur Polo International Festival, in which teams from England, US, Haiti, Urugauy, and of course, India will participate. If you hadn&rsquot heard, Manipur is often said to be the place of origin of the polo (locally also known as Sagol Kangjei). The sport was later made popular by the British. Apart from the spectacular sport, there will be dance performances from the state including Ras Leela, a classical dance form, Kabui Naga dance, Maibi dance, Bamboo dance, among other local folk dances.

You can also watch a local spear-and-swords martial arts form called Thang Ta as well as Mukna Kangjei, a game that involves a combination of hockey and wrestling. After that, indulge in local Manipuri dishes such as eromba (boiled vegetables) with umorok (king chilli), ooti (mustard ebans) and Nga-thongba (dish curry) and call it a day.
