Hampi Utsav, three mega days of dance, drama and music, returns with the promise of a lovelier experience in 2015. The government-managed festivities, also known as Vijaya Utsav, feature renowned folk and classical artistes from across the state and all over India. Rural and adventure sports are also highlights of the fest showcased by KSTDC, which is offering package tours for it. Last year, admits the presiding Minister of State for Labour P.T. Parmeshwar Naik, poor communication and lack of information caused several shortcomings. But the authorities intend to hold the utsav grandly this year, minus hassles. Apart from the marquee performances, there are also art, archery and rifle shooting contests food stalls, a shopping arena, a craft mela and walking tours and arcade games, ATVs, paintball, hot air balloons and a mobile planetarium. The best reason for going, of course, is Hampi itself.
