The “Mud Mirror Art” workshop involves learning about the traditional Indian art form of Lippan/Laipo from the Kutch region. The technique uses small cut pieces of mirror and mud to create wall designs. The art form, which dates back at least 700 years, was originally practised by the Kumbhar/Kunbhar community of Sindh, who were earthen pot-makers. From pots, they moved the art form to larger canvases such as interior and exterior walls of homes.
This weekend, you can learn the art yourself in a 3.5-hour-long workshop. All necessary materials will be provided alongside food and beverages.
