Delhi's Four Eco-Friendly Tourism Circuits To Boost Spiritual And Heritage Tourism

Delhi is preparing to give its tourism story a fresh direction. The Delhi government will launch four new eco-friendly tourism circuits aimed at introducing visitors to the capital's spiritual, cultural, and heritage landmarks beyond its iconic monuments.

The new circuits will be unveiled on August 11 during a special event at Akshardham Temple.

Delhi Tourism Goes Beyond Historical Monuments

In an Instagram post, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said tourism in the capital will no longer be centred only around landmarks such as the Red Fort, Purana Qila, Humayun's Tomb, and India Gate. Instead, the focus will expand to include Delhi's centuries-old religious and cultural heritage.

She highlighted several important places of worship that often remain overlooked by tourists, including Gurudwara Rakab Ganj, Jhandewalan Temple, Chhatarpur Temple, Yogmaya Temple, Jain temples, and historic churches across the city.

According to Gupta, the new circuits have been designed to help travellers explore these sites in a convenient and environmentally friendly way, while encouraging them to spend more time in Delhi.

Eco-Friendly Circuits To Improve Visitor Experience

The four tourism circuits are being positioned as a sustainable way to discover the city's lesser-known attractions. By connecting multiple religious, cultural, and heritage sites into curated routes, the government hopes to make sightseeing easier for both domestic and international visitors.

Officials also believe the initiative will increase the average length of stay for tourists visiting the capital.

Tourism Stakeholders To Meet On August 11

Alongside the launch, the Delhi government will host an interaction with tour operators, hoteliers, restaurant owners, and other tourism stakeholders. The discussions will focus on improving visitor experiences and strengthening collaboration across the tourism sector.

Influencers Invited To Experience The Circuits

The Chief Minister has also invited social media influencers to explore the newly launched tourism circuits on August 12 and share their experiences online.

The government hopes that wider digital promotion will help showcase a different side of Delhi, highlighting its rich spiritual traditions, cultural diversity, and heritage alongside its famous historical monuments.
