Crocodiles Roam Sunken Streets of Vadodara

An unfortunate combination of heavy rains and flooding of Vishwamitri river has led to Vadodara being completely submerged under water. While streets have been clogged and people have been advised to stay indoors, the street animals face lack of shelter. Additional problems arise for these street animals (and residents as well), as crocodiles have gotten washed onto the city roads. A trending video circulating the internet shows the attack on a street dog by a small crocodile. The thigh-high waters have made the city very accessible to the crocodiles that have now entered residential complexes as well.

To everyone&rsquos relief, the dog was seen escaping from the attack. However, while the video gives us a look at one of the crocodiles, the city seems to be infested with multiples. The lack of electricity while necessary has also elevated the troublesome situation. While this has discouraged most people from venturing onto the streets, many residents have banded together to provide food to severely affected areas. Army relief is also active in providing supplies. While floods in certain areas of the city have subsided, residents fear that the nearing Ajwa dam&nbspmay be opened in the near future, threatening floods yet again.
