Whisky lovers, take note! Amrut, India’s pioneering single malt whisky brand, has launched Amrut Expedition, the oldest Indian single malt ever produced, states an official press release by the brand. With a maturation period of 15 years, this ultra-exclusive whisky marks a historic milestone in India’s alco-bev industry.

This rare spirit underwent a thorough ageing process—eight years in a European Sherry cask and seven years in an ex-Bourbon cask from the US. The result? With only 75 bottles available worldwide, Amrut Expedition is a collector’s dream.

Rakshit N Jagdale, Managing Director, Amrut Distilleries, said, “Amrut Expedition is more than just a whisky—it is a celebration of our 75-year journey. This launch is also a tribute to my father, the late Neelkanth Rao Jagdale, whose vision and pioneering spirit put India on the global whisky map. Expedition is not just a whisky—it is history in a bottle."

Packaging Fit For Royalty

Amrut has gone above and beyond to ensure Expedition’s presentation is as exquisite as the whisky itself. Its packaging took six months and five prototypes to perfect. The handcrafted wooden and metal case houses an individually engraved and numbered bottle featuring a diamond-cut design with intricate gold engravings. Adding to its exclusivity, each bottle comes with a bespoke silver peg measure crafted by a Bengaluru silversmith. An NFC tag and authentication card guarantee its authenticity, reinforcing its elite status.

The global unveiling of the Amrut Expedition spans key markets, including India, the USA, the UK, Europe, Dubai, Singapore, and Australia. Priced at over USD 10,000 (approximately INR 8,71,640), this whisky is not just an indulgence but an investment—a testament to how far Indian whisky has come on the global stage.
