As part of the government of Jammu and Kashmir's tourist revival project, under which CM Omar Abdullah was also seen on the streets of Pahalgam, Bollywood actress Human Qureshi, too, visited the valley and Patnitop in particular. The aim of her visit was to underscore the resilient communities alongside highlighting the area's scenic beauty and cultural diversity. She also wished to proffer the notion that Jammu, which is sometimes overlooked in favour of the more beautiful Valley, stores enormous potential as a secure and prosperous travel destination.

Promoting Tourism In Jammu

Resorting to participating in cultural events close to the international border and interacting with local stakeholders and hoteliers, Qureshi conveyed a powerful message that resonated with hope, unity and the burgeoning significance of alternative tourism routes in the scenic Union Territory.

While the actress was still in Jammu, she spoke with the representatives of Jammu and Katra Hotel and Restaurant Associations. Various strategies to increase tourism, and highlight the area's natural beauty and cultural legacy, remain the main topics of discussion. Qureshi also ensured that her position in society helps promote Jammu and Kashmir's hospitality and liveliness so that more tourists throng the region.

Government Initiatives and Infrastructure Development

In spite of the ongoing hostilities in the Kashmir Valley, tourism has returned to Patnitop, a hill station in the Udhampur district of Jammu. Many tourists changed their plans after the Pahalgam incident, choosing Patnitop since it was thought to be safer. This change has boosted the local economy and resulted in surged hotel reservations.

Jammu and Kashmir government has dedicated its attention to taking care of the hill station, and has launched several initiatives to enhance Patnitop's appeal as a tourist destination. Projects include the development of adventure tourism, trekking routes, infrastructure upgrades such as road improvements, and the installation of amenities like water ATMs and viewpoints. These steps seek to go towards rendering visitors with a touch of adventure, wellness and natural beauty all in one place.

Message of Peace and Resilience

Qureshi's visit to the hill station is being interpreted as a symbol of hope and resilience for the region. By engaging with local communities and promoting the area's cultural richness, she contributes significantly to the narrative of unity and optimism that remains the need of the hour in the Valley. The actor's first person involvement staunchly underlines the potential of collaborative efforts between public figures and government initiatives in revitalising tourism and fostering communal harmony.
