In an update issued on Saturday, TaFMA chairman Theja Meru announced that the 2025 edition will showcase a vibrant mix of bands and artistes from Ireland, Scotland, South Korea, Israel, Nepal, Japan, and India, alongside a strong representation of local Naga performers and the winners of Ticket to Hornbill, India’s Biggest Band Battle 2025. A major highlight of this year’s programme will be the return of the world-renowned Japanese drumming ensemble Drum Tao, invited back by popular demand following last year’s phenomenal success.

The first international line-up includes: Rumac (Scotland), Drum Tao (Japan), Japan Junior Orchestra (Japan), Agniva (France), BoINN – Friends of the Mary Wallopers (Ireland), Mongdoll (South Korea), Yekumi (Israel), Space (Nepal), DJ Angy-Z (Russia), and Roots Zombie (France). These global acts will share the stage with Indian and Naga favourites, bringing an impressive range of musical genres to Kisama Heritage Village.

Reiterating the festival’s core vision, Meru emphasised that the Hornbill Music Festival remains deeply committed to promoting independent musicians and providing them with a major platform. “While we receive many requests to bring in big international acts, our focus remains on local and deserving indie artistes who often don’t get access to major stages,” he said.

The 2025 line-up reflects this commitment, featuring a diverse pool of Indian and Naga talent: The Fantastic Company, Novo, Trance Effect, Lateral Move, Street Stories, Wishes and Dreams, Akhanda, Rhythm of the Earth (SAMVAAD), Nagaland Collective, Shreya Karmakar, Gingerfeet, GATC, KL Pamei, Temsu Clover, Hope Academy, Noisy Neighbours, Juxtaposed, Dobom Doji Collective, David Angu, Alive, and Bright Lights.
