Srikakulam&rsquos 7th century Sun God temple hosted the Ratha Saptami festival this week with all the necessary protocols in place. The temple, which is dedicated to the Sun God, Sri Suryanarayana Swamy, was jam-packed with over one lakh devotees.

This year, attendees had to follow all the safety protocols in place for COVID. They were able to view the Ksheerbhishekam performance in small groups. People had to turn up with an official permit or ticket or they were  not be allowed on the premises. And they were allowed to have a darshan once they purchase the Rs100 ticket. 

Ratha Saptami is the most important festival celebrated in this temple located in Arasavalli, Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh. Celebrated in the month of February or March, it is also known as Surya Jayanti.
