In preparation for the massive influx of pilgrims attending Maha Kumbh 2025, IndiGo Airlines is introducing a direct flight between Ranchi and Prayagraj. The special service will commence on February 15 and operate thrice a week—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays—until February 28.
As per the schedule, the flight from Prayagraj will depart at 10:20 AM and reach Ranchi by 11:30 AM, while the return flight will leave Ranchi at 12:00 PM, arriving in Prayagraj by 1:10 PM.
Bookings for this limited-period service are now open, and its extension beyond February 28 will depend on passenger demand. Currently, travelers from Ranchi to Prayagraj rely on connecting flights via Kolkata, Delhi, or Lucknow, with an estimated 300 passengers making this journey daily.
Accommodation: Book hotels or dharamshalas well in advance as demand is extremely high.
Transport: Prayagraj will have special trains, buses, and flights, but expect heavy congestion.
Weather: February can be chilly in the mornings and evenings—carry warm clothing.
Safety & Health: Follow crowd management guidelines and carry essentials like sanitizers and bottled water.
Sacred Bathing Days: Major snan (holy dip) dates attract the largest crowds, so plan accordingly.
With this new flight service, Ranchi-based pilgrims will have a more convenient travel option to experience the grandeur of Maha Kumbh 2025.
