Leading lifestyle hospitality brand Minimalist Hotels has announced plans to expand by opening 20 new hotels over the next two years. This expansion represents a significant milestone for the brand as it strives to redefine hospitality in the mid-market segment across some of India's most dynamic and culturally rich destinations, including Varanasi, the National Capital Region (NCR), Rajasthan, Goa, Mumbai, Uttarakhand, and Chandigarh.

This strategic initiative aligns with the broader projection for the Indian hotel market, which is expected to grow from USD 15.67 billion in 2024 to USD 22.41 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.32 per cent, according to Research and Markets. Boutique and mid-scale lifestyle hotels, particularly in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, are anticipated to be key drivers of this growth. This trend is fuelled by increased domestic tourism, rising disposable incomes, and a growing preference for Bleisure (business and leisure) travel.

“At Minimalist Hotels, our vision is to redefine the lifestyle hotel experience by blending minimalism with design, functionality, and local culture with global sensibilities,” said Gautam Munjal, CEO of Minimalist Hotels in an issued statement. “With the steady growth in tourism, we see a meaningful opportunity to extend our presence and offer thoughtfully curated hospitality to more travellers seeking comfort, authenticity, and a sense of connection.”

About The New Openings By Minimalist Hotels

Currently, to meet the evolving expectations of travellers, the brand hosts a variety of curated community events. These include DJ-led music nights, European-style coffee raves, fitness-focused run clubs in Goa, and co-working hubs that cater to workations. These initiatives reflect Minimalist’s deep understanding of modern travellers' desires for purposeful stays, immersive social experiences, and personal well-being.

The brand has welcomed over 1,50,000 guests across all its locations in the past seven years, reflecting the increasing trust and preference among modern travellers for Minimalist’s unique hospitality experience. The brand places a strong emphasis on hiring local talent, with 50 per cent of the staff at each property being local hires. This not only supports regional economies but also ensures that the hospitality experience is rooted in cultural familiarity and authenticity.

A key differentiator for the brand is FIKA Coffee Co., its co-branded in-house café. With a consistent interior identity and a locally adapted menu at every location, FIKA offers an evolving culinary experience that balances brand consistency with regional expression.
