Good thing New Delhi and Bengaluru&rsquos airports upgraded when they did, for they get to be among the world&rsquos first five airports to greet the world&rsquos longest passenger jet. The Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental's inaugural flight from Frankfurt to Washington DC is slated for June 1, 2012. The double-decker craft is 250.3 feet long and has a 225-foot wing span. Lufthansa&rsquos 747-8 fleet, which will consist of 20 aircraft, will also fly to Los Angeles and Chicago O&rsquoHare, as well as the two Indian airports, later this year.
