Travelling to the world’s least densely populated country just got easier. MIAT Mongolian Airlines, the national carrier of Mongolia, has announced the launch of a non-stop service between the capital, Ulaanbaatar, and Singapore from November 4.

The flights will operate twice a week—on Tuesdays and Saturdays—and depart Singapore at 7:25 PM local time before arriving in Mongolia at 2:55 AM local time. The return flight from Ulaanbaatar will leave at 10:35 AM local time and arrive in Singapore at 6 PM local time. Both countries share the same time zone.

Tickets are on sale, with economy-class seats priced at USD 385.60 (approximately INR 33,852). However, the flights are available only during winter until March 26, 2026, for now.

According to its website, MIAT will use a Boeing 767 plane for the seven-and-a-half hour flight. The twin-aisle jet has 15 business-class seats and 237 seats in economy.

Booking information indicates that the airline will operate out of Changi Airport Terminal 1, but this has not been finalised.

“The Land of Blue Skies” receives over 250 sunny days a year and is a hidden travel gem for many visitors. Indians travelling to Mongolia have to presently stopover at Hong Kong—a total flight time of 15.5 hours from Delhi.

Singapore is geographically closer to India than Hong Kong. A flight from Delhi to Singapore Changi Airport takes six hours, while Kolkata to Singapore is four-and-a-half hours. The launch of the Singapore to Ulaanbaatar route will cut down on travel time to the latter by a full two hours at least.
