Travellers flying in and out of Delhi will soon have a more comfortable way to connect to the city’s satellite hubs. Starting next week, Indira Gandhi International Airport will introduce a new fleet of luxury coaches offering direct links to Noida and Greater Noida—the first such service of its kind in India. The initiative, unveiled on Friday by Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), is designed to provide a high-quality, round-the-clock transport option for airport users. Each journey will be priced at INR 199.

Encouraging A Shift From Private Vehicles

At present, around one in five passengers at IGI Airport rely on public transport. Authorities are hopeful the introduction of these dedicated “airport-city” coaches will encourage more people to shift away from private vehicles and taxis, especially those commuting from Noida and Greater Noida. The coaches, operated in partnership with FlixBus, come equipped with features aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and safety. On board, travellers will find USB charging points, CCTV coverage, generous luggage compartments, and reclining seats. The buses will also have real-time tracking and trained personnel on board.

The move is part of a broader effort to improve last-mile connectivity and offer more sustainable alternatives for airport transit—a key focus as Delhi continues to expand its urban transport infrastructure.

Seamless Booking Across Multiple Platforms

Tickets will be available through the FlixBus app as well as popular platforms like Redbus, MakeMyTrip, and Paytm. For those who prefer to purchase tickets in person, counters will be set up at the arrivals areas of Terminals 1 and 3, with designated boarding points clearly marked at all terminals.

The new luxury coaches will be operated by DIAL, in partnership with FlixBus, a European-based long-distance bus service company that operates an extensive network of intercity and international routes, primarily across Europe, but also expanding globally. Passengers can expect real-time bus tracking, professionally trained staff, USB charging ports, CCTV surveillance, ample space for luggage, and plush seating throughout the journey.

The service will connect travellers to several important stops, including Noida Sector 16, Botanical Garden, Golf Course Road, Gaur City, Jaypee Wishtown, and Pari Chowk. Depending on traffic, travel times are anticipated to vary between approximately two and three hours.

This launch brings Delhi Airport in line with major international hubs such as Heathrow, Charles de Gaulle, Berlin Brandenburg, Vienna, and Amsterdam Schiphol, where similar airport-to-city coach services have long been established.
