India resumed its scheduled domestic passenger flights from May 25 after a period of two months due to the pandemic. Currently, airlines are allowed to operate maximum 60 per cent of their pre-COVID domestic flights. However, special international passenger flights have been operating between India and various other countries, including the UK, under the air bubble arrangements. In this pact, airlines of the two countries can operate special passenger flights to each other&rsquos territories under certain restrictions.

To cater the growing demand and responses Vistara plans to operate more flights on the Delhi-Goa route and on the Mumbai-Goa route. Currently operating nine flights a week between Delhi and Goa, and ten a week between Mumbai and Goa, Vistara plans to increase it to 11 flights weekly between Delhi/Mumbai and Goa starting October 25, 2020.

Because of the winter season Goa sees a large footfall of foreign tourists, including an excessive number from Britain and Russia.

From August 28, Vistara started using its newly inducted Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, to operate special flights on the Delhi-London route. The airline has started operating five flights a week on the Delhi-London route from November 21, instead of four flights a week, and a daily service starting from December 1.

The aviation minister recently said that the airline traffic and demand for domestic travel is expected to reach pre-COVID levels by the end of 2020.
