Acclaimed celebrity chef Gary Rhodes, known for his expertise in British cuisine, passed away at the age of 59 on November 26. While filming a new series in Dubai with Rock Oyster Media and Goldfinch TV, Rhodes fell extremely ill and died shortly after.

Before his untimely death, Gary Rhodes had made appearances on various shows including MasterChef USA and Hell&rsquos Kitchen. The Michelin star holder also hosted his own show called Rhodes around Britain and published a book of the same name, where he sampled local dishes and re-created them. Condolences poured in from all over the world as celebrity chefs took to twitter to express their grief and gratitude for the inspirational chef. After earning his first Michelin star at the age of 26, Rhodes led many other restaurants to Michelin glory. For his contributions to the culinary industry, Rhodes was made an Officer of the British Empire in 2016.



The chef published several cookbooks in his name and served various celebrities including Tom Hanks and his favourite football team, Manchester United. Rhodes moved and settled in Dubai in 2011 where he headed Rhodes Mezzanine and proceeded to open his first restaurant in Abu Dhabi in 2013.
