Surati for Performing Arts, Rimli Roy&rsquos award winning non-profit performing arts company, is a name synonymous with Indian art, music and culture. Since its inception in 2002, the group has put several stage performances, showcasing Indian themes, stories and festivals. Aiming to promote Indian art and culture within the community, the Surati team led by Roy has performed throughout the country and outside. With the festive season right around the corner, Surati for Performing Arts is back again with the annual Lights of Diwali Festival and various other events.

The Surati Lights of Diwali Bazaar will be held on October 11 at Exchange Place, Jersey City along with the first ever Hudson waterfront  Dandia - Bollywood Night. Starting October 30, Surati will also be running their original production Ramaavan, a musical Broadway style retelling of the ancient epic Ramayana. With five shows over the course of three days, Surati aims to bring a unique theatrical experience through Indian classical dance and music. It will be performed in English and incorporate elements from diverse genres around the globe, including folk, jazz and opera.
