The pandemic upended normal life for most people, and us bibliophiles had to find recourse in solitary books without the warmth embrace that is the charm of a book club meeting or the buzz of a literary festival. But the coming year is set to bring back nostalgia wrapped in a new experience.

Jaipur Literature Fest, or JLF, as the holy grail of fests is popularly known, is coming back in a hybrid format, to our delight. Apart from being a temporary home to some of the best authors from around the world, JLF will be abuzz with discussions in a dual-venue set-up.

Whar's Changed at JLF

*The 2022 edition of the iconic annual fest will be a ticketed event for in-person visitors, with the early bird entry starting at Rs 200. 

*For the first time since its inception, JLF has changed venues. Diggi Palace will now host the musical events while the literary sessions will be held at hotel Clarks Amer in Jaipur. 

*The Festival will continue to be a platform for literary discourse and bonding, and reach out to book-lovers across continents digitally. The fest will host digital sessions during the on-ground event, extended to February 6. 

JLF Goes Global

Billed the &lsquogreatest literary show on earth&rsquo for over a decade, Jaipur Literature Fest will also cross the shore and go to Maldives for the first time.Soneva is partnering with Teamwork Arts, producer of the festival to bring JLF to Soneva Fushi. JLF Soneva Fushi will be a literary destination for 10 days, from May 13- 22, with stunning destinations forming the perfect backdrop to an international line-up of authors and fascinating workshops.

Who's Who of the Literary World

Jaipur Literature fest will once again reverberate with intense discussions among people from all walks of life. Some of the notable speakers set to grace the dias at the event include Indian poet and LGBTQ rights activist Akhil Katyal, Bangladeshi journalist Mahfuz Anam critically acclaimed historian and writer Manu S. Pillai,  author of internationally bestselling and award-winning books Robert Macfarlane,  Mumbai-based writer and journalist Anindita Ghose, PEN Open Book Award-nominated Jamaican poet, writer and essayist Kei Miller to name a few.
