Air India has started a series of flights to Australia under the Vande Bharat Mission. The national carrier announced eight evacuation flights which are set to be operational from July 1 to July 14.

Four flights each will be operated to and from Melbourne and Sydney. People can book these only on the Air India website. The booking window opens on June 28 at 1200hrs IST.

The Vande Bharat Mission, that began in early May, has been rescuing Indians stuck abroad. The flights are operating to different countries in a phased manner. At the time of writing, over 1.45 lakh Indians have been rescued and more than 50,000 have been flown out to different countries.
